My doctor is like we don’t know if you have endo or anything but when you have so much pain that you literally pass out and some days you just can’t move bc pain and then they are like you are overreacting it can’t be that bad. And I kept having to go to the hospital bc my Lucifer waterfall didn’t want to end. It was 6 months and now I’m on this birth control that stops it. But it’s NORMAL!!!

I wasn’t diagnosed with endo until I was 28. I had an ultrasound to check up on a cist that I had and they saw it. I still had no idea that I was having SO many symptoms until I watched this. I thought it was normal because I was told it was normal. I bloat so bad during my period that I go up a pant size. I have always struggled with being constipated. (I know TMI) I’m always tired no matter how much sleep I get. I am fortunate to be able to control the pain and heavy bleeding with birth control. But before that my periods were HEAVY.

I had surgery two weeks ago for a uterine fibroid removal. Luckily my Dr. said she would do a laparoscopy while I was under gen anesthesia to check for Endo. After surgery my Dr. told me that I have Stage 3 Endo. As crazy as it sounds I was so happy to learn of my diagnosis. Years of pain and random symptoms that I had experienced were finally explained! Because it meant that I was not weak or crazy. Now I can begin to learn how to manage my Endo. Its crazy that most people (including myself) has never even heard of this disease! I am totally going to get that book! Thank you ladies for spreading awareness!

I kept telling my doctors about my pain. How my husband would have to carry me to the bathroom because of the pain, they said “you’re too young to worry about that” and gave me pain medicine. I’m finally at 28 getting the help I need. I’m on my 5th doctor. We can’t accept those half answers anymore. I want kids so I’m tired of everyone telling me not to worry about it. Go in for my Laparoscopic surgery next month. Advocate for your health ladies. 💛

My mom has an incredible rare nerve disease, and several other medical conditions. She had a nerve simulator put in order to walk, because her pain was so bad. She once described it feeling like Freddie Kruger was stabbing her in the leg. She tried to go to a specialist, but of course was denied do to the fact that they where out of network. So the doctor who ended putting her stimulator in didn't not do the job correctly. So she ended up having to get the surgery all over again! And because the previous surgery was done incorrectly, it have even caused damage to her body! We're still trying to figure it all out. But it's been incredibly hard on my mom mental because she just doesn't want to be in pain anymore.

I am an endometriosis advocate and I can speak from experience that the best option for endometriosis care is “excision” surgeon by an expert of trained doctor. Many experts will review your case for free. I was butchered by a surgeon who gaslit me and allowed me to end up in sepsis. He wasn’t skilled enough for my case and as a result his ego preventing him from saying this harmed me. Caused me to lose my job. I fought over 5-6 years for two expert excision surgery... to remove the endo, then to clean up the damage. The damage done to my pelvic organs from sepsis. I ended up with a hysterectomy because of sepsis and massive damage. And while I may be in remission with endometriosis, but I have similar to CPRS of the pelvis, with inflammation and issues as a result of all the trauma. Keep fighting and find groups that help you. You need and deserve compassion with your care.

I had birth control shoved at me and told to move on with my life. It was through videos like this that I learnt that there was more that I could do to help and make myself feel better. I had no idea! I should have done my own research but you would think that doctors would explain properly. I’ve started educating myself and helping myself feel better but I picked up so many things I had no idea about in this video. Like I get chronic hives! I had no idea that endometriosis could be the cause! Off to do some research. Thank you so much for such an open conversation!

For an ACTUAL diagnosis of endometriosis, you MUST have a laparoscopy and a biopsy. Period. I have endo and I’ve had so many women tell me they have it too when in fact, they’ve never had the surgery. Those women are spreading misinformation about a very serious condition. I had to have a hysterectomy in my 20s. I’ve had 6 other surgeries including having an InterStem device implant in my body last year. The lesser procedures where I had to be put to sleep are too many to count. And yet still, I suffer in pain every day. I can’t work except from home. I miss out on so many events and family time because of the pain ... and I’m in pain management so it’s not like I’m not being treated. Endometriosis robbed me of so many dreams and possibilities. So please, anyone who hasn’t been properly diagnosed, don’t say you have endometriosis when you have yet to have surgery and biopsy. It’s damaging and makes light of such a destructive condition.

Sadly women are dismissed and often offered mental health services in comparison to our male counterparts. Who are taken seriously and offered pain control at much higher rates then women. I have Crohn’s disease and was sick for years before I was properly diagnosed, I was told it’s in my head... that nothing is wrong with me. Living with a invisible chronic illness is hard enough.... The last thing we need is to be gaslighted by providers! Let’s face it no wants to talk about sensitive issues like this.. we’ve been taught that it’s a private matter. So women continue to suffer in silence. That’s why Sharing our experiences is so important

This comment is not to support a political candidate or agenda, but I thank Tati for bringing up the pain and horror of not having health insurance and having a chronic condition that is as life-interrupting as endo. Lack of health insurance kills thousands every year, but it also robs people of happiness, their ability to work, support themselves, and pay taxes, and our right to dignified life-saving care. Thank you Tati for dedicating a large portion of this video to another side of dealing with a chronic illness - how you will pay for the care needed to feel just a little bit better. <3

I have fibromyalgia and a few comorbidities, and I make videos about that because when I was diagnosed I had never heard of it, and I realised there wasn't much out there. I am so happy I did that because it helped me meet lots of other people in my situation, and feel less alone. I have to work from home because my illness activity is too high to go to work and all that. But yes, that makes it hard to afford treatment and all that. It's not easy being a woman with a chronic, invisible illness that isn't well known, cause we are often not taken seriously. I'm glad you opened up, and talking about it will help so many people.
